Am I Required to Shovel Snow From My Sidewalk?
By ProMatcher Staff
Whether or not you are required to shovel snow from your sidewalk depends upon the jurisdiction in which you live. We strongly encourage you to contact your local government to find out.
That said, there are reasons why you should shovel snow from your sidewalk REGARDLESS of whether or not it is required of you.
1. Safety (you and your neighbors). People need to get to and from work. Kids need to get to and from school. Pets need to be walked.
2. Liability. Lawyers are always looking for a way to get you. So why not remove this from the list of possibilities.
The bottom line is that shoveling your sidewalk is one way to help your community and your neighborhood.
If you are physically unable to do it or you simply do not have the time, then we can help you out. We will match you to a snow removal contractor near you who would be happy to provide you a free snow shoveling cost estimate.
