Snow removal is the act of removing snow from travel areas (roadways, walkways, airports, train tracks, etc.). It is somewhat of an odd word because you do not actually "remove" the snow; you simply move it from one place to another.

Snow plowing, snow ploughing, snowplowing, snow blowing.
Methods Used to Remove Snow
1. Plowing (pushing).
2. Shoveling (picking it up and moving it).
3. Blowing (churning it through a machine and throwing it).
4. Melting it (using chemicals and salt).
Equipment Used to Remove Snow
1. Hand shovels and hand plows.
2. Machine driven plows.
3. Bucket machines (front end loaders and back-hoes).
4. Dump trucks.
